Twelve dishes, twelve chefs, two teams; but only one can bring home the bacon at this year’s Dingley Dell Pork ‘Flying Visit with The Dirty Dozen’ BBQ Competition on Sunday 27th September at The Leather Bottle, Earlsfield.
The 12 course pig-based al fresco battle, using premium pork supplied by Dingley Dell, will see some of the country’s top chefs go head-to-head for charity. You can be part of the action as you sample every porky plate and help the celebrity panel to decide the winner of the coveted Golden Pig Trophy.
Michelin-starred captains – Mark Poynton of Alimentum and Adam Smith of The Devonshire Arms – will lead two teams of UK gastro-greats including Simon Hulstone, Matt Gillan, Eric Snaith, and Russell Bateman as they compete to create the tastiest BBQ pork dish. Assisting the teams in their crusade of crackling will be catering students from six colleges, from ‘a Passion to Inspire’ programme, helping to raise money for Young’s Pubs’ charity of the year, Wooden Spoon, as well as Teenage Cancer Trust.
The evening will also see butchery demonstrations from Direct Meats, an auction with a host of money-can’t-buy prizes, and music from Suffolk folk band the Broadside Boys who will be keeping that summer feeling going.
Tickets are £45 and available from http://bit.ly/DirtyDozen15
