Russell Norman reopens Polpetto

Polpetto, the jewel-box Soho restaurant from POLPO founders Russell Norman and Richard Beatty will reopen on August 10th 2015.  With a new Head Chef taking the helm, Polpetto will return to its roots with sharing plates and Venetian influences, following the traditions of its sister restaurants.

For the reopening, Polpetto will take inspiration from its original incarnation above the French House pub on Dean Street, with a number of Polpetto classics making a return to the simple menu. The restaurant will close its doors from the 1st August, before reopening on the 10th serving dishes such as Anchovy & Chickpea Crostini and Spicy Meatball Pizzetta alongside Rabbit Pappardelle and Zucchini Fries. Josie McLean will continue her role as Restaurant Manager, and take charge of the drinks menu serving classic aperitivi such as Mezzo e Mezzo and the Grapparita.

Polpetto has been the site of many great accomplishments for Florence, and it has been wonderful to see her at the forefront of the London restaurant scene. As we wish her the very best with new endeavours, we are also delighted to re-launch Polpetto – marking a new beginning in our beloved Berwick Street location’ says founder, Russell Norman.

Polpetto’s original Head Chef, Florence Knight took the reins at Polpetto in 2010. Her daily changing menu of sharing plates highlighting the very best of British seasonal produce won the chef widespread acclaim, including a Michelin Bib Gourmand, and her most recent appointment as the Sunday Times columnist.

I’ve loved every moment spent in the Polpetto kitchen. It’s been my home for the past five years. Whilst I am sad to say goodbye, I look forward to beginning a new chapter in my career as a Chef’, says Florence Knight.
